Infratex Philippines Inc. was founded in Manila in 1988 and has been serving the commercial and industrial market with high quality products and services for the past 36 years.

Space-Tray was invented by the president of Infratex as a bespoke solution for Manila's electric utility company, and is now available to all interested utility companies, governments, and private clientele. The utilities were looking for a solution to the perennial problem of messy utility wires, particularly with respect to Elevated Meter Centers. The Space-Tray Aerial Cable Management System became the solution of choice, as it comprehensively satisfied the long list of requirements needing to be addressed.

Space-Tray modules in use by Meralco

Space-Tray began commercial deployment in 2018 after a year-long pilot project to confirm its functionality and durability. As of today, Space-Tray remains the only cable management solution in the world that addresses the many issues involved with organizing large numbers of small-bore power and telecom cables in a pole-mounted environment. It’s unique characteristics mean that it can also serve equally well in many other indoor, as well as outdoor, cable management solutions.

Space-Tray is produced in the Philippines. All design, engineering, mold making, and production is done inhouse, allowing us to maintain complete control over the quality of our products, from start to finish. This also provides us with the ability to customize Space-Tray to suit anyone’s particular requirements.

With more than two million components installed and more than 15,000 kilometers of cabling already secured in Space-Tray, we are just getting started. Our mission is to rid the planet of the unsightly and dangerous spaghetti-wire mess of utility cables strangling much of the world, restoring clear skies and safe and reliable utilities.

- Overhead line lifetime cost estimates varying between £2.2m and £4.2m per kilometre.
- Direct buried underground cable line estimates varying between £10.2m and £24.1m per kilometre.”
Other methods of underground installation such as deep tunnels can cost considerably more.

But isn’t the best solution just to put all these cables underground, you ask? In an ideal world, perhaps, however the prohibitive costs(1), both direct, as well as from the massive disruption resulting from untold thousands of kilometers of roads being torn up to install conduits underground, is just not feasible in most cases. When it is viable to go underground, Infratex also offers conduits and fittings solutions to do so (see our CorFlex product line), however for the majority of existing and new cabling arrangements, Space-Tray provides a vastly cheaper alternative with a long list of advantages that will allow real solutions to happen in the near term.
